Thecla Uzozie
Thecla Uzozie is an award-winning actor; a screenwriter, filmmaker, and educator. Her eponymous role in Halimah earned her a best actor award at the Ebonylife Creative Academy, Lagos.
She has gained recognition for work as a screenwriter on The Bride Price, Tòkunbò, Stitches, and Everything Light Touches which was awarded at the 11th AMVCAs. Thecla is passionate about telling transformative African stories, which is evident in her directorial debut – Nne, a story that explores postpartum psychosis.
She is an advocate of promoting African languages and has created numerous children’s books in Igbo and English language in collaboration with NABU.
