Elenia Beretta
Elenia Beretta is an Italian illustrator and author based in Berlin. She graduated from MiMaster in Editorial Illustration in Milan and has been working as a freelance illustrator since 2014.
Her work combines painting and storytelling, with a particular focus on picture books and editorial illustration. Her illustrations have appeared in international publications including The New York Times, Time Magazine, The Washington Post, and Süddeutsche Zeitung. She collaborates with international publishers and brands, teaches Experimental Illustration, and is the co-founder of the creative initiatives Drawing Nights Berlin and Picturebooks Berlin.
Beretta has illustrated and authored several books for international publishers, including We Love Pizza / Wir lieben Pizza! (Little Gestalten, 2021), as well as picture books for Topipittori, Slow Food Editore, and Editions Cambourakis.
Her work has been recognised in international illustration competitions and exhibitions. She was selected for the Society of Illustrators 65 Annual Exhibition in New York in 2023 and received the Gold Medal at the Autori Immagini Annual the same year. Her work has also been included multiple times in American Illustration and the Autori Immagini Annual, and she received an Honourable Mention from 3×3 Magazine. In 2026, she was awarded a work grant for literature in non-German languages by the Berlin Senate.
