See My World
Big People Community organises a series of multicultural, multi-lingual, intergenerational inclusive events which seek to inspire and promote self-determination and self-realisation of the UK’s African and Caribbean diaspora. The online and physical festival involves the education, promotion and celebration of PanAfrican Arts, Culture and Being.
In partnership with Book Buzz Foundation, they embarked on a project called See My World. Ayomide Oshunluyi and Tobechukwu Anyachebelu collaborated with the Big People Community team to screen applicants for an international exchange between Manchester and Lagos. Out of 50 applicants, three artists namely Deborah Johnson, Papa Quaye, Josh Inyang were selected for a week-long residency in Lagos.
The artists came together to create a multimedia exhibition titled ‘See My World: Manchester, Lagos & Me‘ where they expressed their candid views of the two rapidly evolving cities.
The project is funded by the British Council.
