Abdulkareem Baba-Aminu is a writer, illustrator, editor, and poet. His first collection, ‘Kill The Poet, Save The World!’ was recently released to critical acclaim and commercial success. An award-winning journalist for over two decades, he spent about 13 years as the Editor of the Daily Trust Saturday, also serving on the influential newspaper’s Editorial Board before pivoting to advertising and PR consultancy.
Baba-Aminu’s editorial cartoons, also for German media giant Deutsche Welle, have been described as ‘masterful, scathing, and irreverent’.
His written and illustrated work is featured on the bestselling anthology ‘The Most Important Comic Book On Earth’ (Penguin UK), while his journalistic work has been published in other languages, most recently French (Courrier International) and Italian (the ‘Nigeria’ edition of Passenger Magazine).
A sought-after book cover designer with many well known titles under his belt, Baba-Aminu is also COO of Spine & Label, Abuja’s most beloved bookstore.
