After a successful career as an educator, Shoneyin is currently the director of Book Buzz Foundation, the curator of both the Ake Arts and Book Festival and Kaduna Book and Arts Festival.She also contributes to  Northern Lights Series. Shoneyin is also an award-winning writer and a cultural activist
